It was like when you loose your first tooth and you always expected it to be painful. Tasting nothing but blood and red roses adorning your shirt. I MEAN YOUR MOUTH IS FALLING APART.
It was like trying on your favorite pair of shoes from years ago, and they still fit.
It was like filling shelves of food storage for the sure disasters, and only ever digging in because you need a midnight snack.
It was like getting a flu shot as a kid. You always think it's going to hurt. Gripping the white paper layering the seat underneath you and looking over at mom. "It's okay, honey" she says, "breathe".
Following the advice, you hear a *click* from the nurse's hands and you don't feel a thing. It doesn't hurt at all.
It didn't hurt at all.
You didn't hurt at all.
Simple, elegant and honest. It is the small things like this that keep you alive. Thank you for this.
